Cornetta Charitable Foundation raises money
Nearly $7,000 Raised by The Cornetta Charitable Foundation and The Love Shack for Assistance with the Fire Tragedy in Johns Creek.
ATLANTA, GA - July 9, 2007 - With 1% of gross sales for area stores and 2% of gross sales from our Johns Creek store, The Love Shack, through the first 12 days of June has already raised more then $In the month of June, these companies raised $6,826.46 to be donated to the victims of a recent fire in the community of Johns Creek and to assist in the development of a Fire Department in Johns Creek.
With 1% of gross sales from area stores and 2% of sales from the Love Shack’s Johns Creek store, the Love Shack is donating $5,058.46 from its June sales.
In addition to the already mentioned $5,058.46, the Love Shack employees and customers donated $768 to this worthwhile cause. As previously released, John and Irina Cornetta have also already made a personal donation of $1,000 split between the Felix Roberts Memorial Fund and the Callahan family.
“I couldn’t be any happier to turn over these checks to the Felix Roberts Memorial Fund and the Callahan family,” said Cornetta. “I own a home and a business in the community of Johns Creek and I am set to open a second business in the Johns Creek. There’s nothing that I’d love to see more than a working Fire Department for the city.
“Some people have suggested that I am doing this because I have an agenda, they are right,” said Cornetta. “That agenda is to see people care more then they do, build bridges instead of divides and do what in their hearts they know is right. When I got the letter from Fulton County Fire Chief Larry Few that he did not want the money to go to the Felix Roberts Memorial Fund I was angered at first. However the very next day I got word from Tampa, FL of thanks and encouragement from Charlie Mae Roberts, Felix’s mother. That was all it took to convince me we were on the right track.”
The Cornetta Charitable Foundation, Inc. was set on June 13, 2007 on behalf of John Cornetta, Irina Cornetta and the Love Shack. The goal of the Cornetta Charitable Foundation is to help those in need.
The Foundation will be delivering these checks no later than Friday, July 20. The next two weeks will be used to account and audit the numbers to make sure the numbers being reported are correct. If the numbers are changed, the Foundation only anticipates this monetary figure to increase.
