A controversial adult retail shop owner in Johns Creek lost a round in federal court Monday.
Federal Judge Thomas Thrash Jr. ruled that after Fulton County denied a business license to the Love Shack in 2006, Love Shack owner John Cornetta should have appealed the denial with Fulton County administrators before heading to federal court. Because he didn’t, the federal courts didn’t have any reason to consider Cornetta’s appeal, Thrash said. Read more »

A Fulton County Superior Court judge threatened to throw owner John Cornetta in jail, or fine him, or padlock the store, or all of the above if he didn’t abide by the city’s rules.

ATLANTA — Love Shack owner John Cornetta has been found in contempt of court for continuing to operate the store in Johns Creek, Ga.
The ruling at Fulton County Court came Monday afternoon after Johns Creek officials asked for a ruling in the case that claimed that Cornetta was violating a court order issued Feb. 28.

The city of Johns Creek is asking a judge to find the owner of the Love Shack in contempt, which could lead to jail, a fine or closing the adult-themed store, or all of the above.
The city said in a filing on Friday that it has inspected the store and that the owner, John Cornetta, is continuing to operate a sexually oriented business at Jones Bridge and State Bridge roads. The city argues Cornetta is in direct violation of a Feb. 28 court order issued by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville. Read more »
