They can’t resist the lure of the disco lights. The twinkles from the pasties. The latex from the rubber sex toys. The always pouring bartenders. Oh, how they love the nightlife.
Atlanta’s reputation as Sin City of the South is long-standing. The metro area is home to strip clubs—enough for both gays and straights to have their own places to stuff dollar bills—24-hour dance clubs, adult-oriented shops that pitch sex toys, videos and buddy booths, and bartenders that know how to pour a stiff drink, well into the wee hours of the morning. ATLANTA—The second branch of a Gwinnett County adult video and novelty store, whose inventory includes a number of gay and lesbian-themed items, is the focus of protests from a neighborhood group that hasn’t given up despite legal setbacks.
The original Love Shack, opened in February 2000, is located on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross. Owner John J. Cornetta opened the Love Shack II on Peachtree Parkway on July 16, just before the Gwinnett County Commission established new rules for adult-oriented establishments. Read more »
